Some Reviews of Ideals

Image
Ideals on ARTROCKER Ideals is on the latest issue of ARTROCKER magazine! I don't have the magazine because I don't know how to get it unless I buy it online. I got this picture from BW's Facebook. He uploaded it on his wall, but unfortunately it is blurry so I can barely read it. [Come on, B. You got the new Iphone 4S. Take a better picture of it! Hahaha.] After I gave my best shot to read that, I know that the article still mentioned Johnny Healey as Ideals' guitarist while Ben Smith was on the photograph. And speaking about the photo... I never saw this pic before! I saw several new photo of Ideals by White-Robot Photography few days ago, but not this one. Darn...! I love this pic! Hahaha. Beside ARTROCKER magazine, Ideals has been reviewed on some online media as well, regarding their forthcoming EP, Let Your Anger Leave You . This is the review from It's All Indie blog. Nice review! It definitely makes me looking forward to listening to their whole EP. It has...

Me and IDEALS

MUSIC is something I can't live without. I've been a music fan since a long time ago and been a concert go-ers right after I can earn my own money. I listen to some music genres, from pop, rock, japanese-rock, electronic, and indie music. The latest band I found very interesting was IDEALS. They are four-piece-London-based-indie-band who're formed on 2010. I knew about them from my best mate, Sindi, who lives in Sweden now. She gave me the link to their video, Lungs and I was instantly falling in love with them. Not too long after that, they released their video, Significant Other . This video definitely made me a huge fan of them. It is still become my favorite video of them until now. Significant Other was the trigger for me to make arts for them. It was started by making Ben Ward portrait painting . (Ben is my favorite member of the band.) I had no intention at all when I made it. It was simply because I am a portrait painter and I've done some artists and musicians...

The New Ideals

Image
Two days ago, my favorite London-based indie band announced the change of their member on their Facebook page . Yes, it is about IDEALS, the band that is definitely have my 100% of support. They posted about the sad news on around 6 pm UK time and uploaded their new pic with the new guitarist as well. Here it is... From left to right: Simon Wilson (bass), Benjamin Ward (drums), Andrew Major (vocal + guitar), Ben Smith (guitar) Ben Smith is the new guitarist. As far as I concerned, Ben Smith is Ideals' third guitarist after their first guitarist, Matthew Bunkell and their second one, Johnny Healey left the band. Personally, I was so sad when I first heard about Johnny's leaving. I like Johnny. I like his guitar playing as well. I had a chance to speak to him on Facebook chat and based on his words and his way of speaking, I think he's a nice person. I just hope this is the best decision for him. Good luck on whatever you do, Johnny! I got this sad news from Ben (by Ben, I me...

IDEALS' Gig Poster

Image
This is the poster I made for IDEALS gig on August 4th in Ipswich, UK featuring These Ghosts and Rory Hill. It’s inspired by their video, Lungs . PS. Thinking that this piece of work was being stuck on the bars' wall and other places in Ipswich is thrilling. So happy that my work can be involved in Ideals' music history. Tessa x
