Luke Skywalker_Step by Step

Image
As you can see on my previous blog entry , I made a watercolor painting of Luke Skywalker on a blank A6 size postcard. While making this painting, I have scanned some of the processes in order to make a step by step explanation of it. Here you go… 1. Sketch First step is making the sketch. Actually I didn’t plan to make this painting at all. I was just browsed too much about Star Wars on last Wednesday regarding their blu ray release. I love Star Wars. And I just realized that I never made a fan art of it. Not at all. Wondered why. So there I was… Sitting in front of my laptop which was displaying Luke Skywalker picture. I took my paper and B pencil (yeah, I always draw a sketch with B pencil. Never use 2B.) and I ended up with this drawing. It’s a small drawing. Only on A6 paper. 2. Prepare all you need My weapoonnnns! Yes, they are things I need in this painting. The sketch, B pencil, eraser, watercolor paint (mostly Cotman, since my fav watercolor brand, Sakura tr...

Brett Anderson

Image
YAY! It's Brett Anderson from Suede! I made this portrait painting to express the euphoria of Suede's upcoming gig in Jakarta. Yes, I'm gonna see Suede live this Saturday (March 19th). I couldn't tell you how happy I am. I've been a fan of the band since 14 years ago and I missed their concert on 2003. Well, things happened when the promoter announced the ticketing system. We have to trade-in the oh-so-famous-smartphone Blackberry which costs at least 300 USD in order to get the ticket. But Suede fans didn't give up. Some of us spoke our mind on the band forum. Luckily, the band management showed up and told us that they will try their best to find a solution. And yes, they did have solution for us. The management decided to giveaway 500 tickets to Suede fans by answering a series of Suede related question. On March 10, they give us a link to win those tickets and I think it's more than just 500 tickets. That was fantastic! Social forum has beaten the capit...

Escape

Image
She's escaping with her umbrella, going whenever the winds bring her. Is she escaping from above the clouds? Or is she running away from the world below? Well it's up to you :) I made this painting with watercolor, aquarelle pencil color, red acrylic and white gouache on watercolor paper. I usually like to take step-by-step pictures. But, since my camera's lost, I couldn't do it. So I just scanned the final result. I was about to paint windows on the sky with children behind it, watching the girl flew away, but it seemed I was to lazy to paint it. Hahaha! Shame on me :( I used a photo stock as reference.
